Protein banana bread with cream cheese filling
Very simple recipe, healthy, delicious, low calorie and low fat, no added sugars. Calories and macros per slice - 112 calories, 11.3g protein, 14.6g carbs, 1.2g fat.
Ingredients:
60g all Purpose flour
60g of your favorite protein powder
3g baking soda
5g baking powder
85g Greek yogurt fat free
1 large egg
5g vanilla extract
226 fat free cream cheese (one 8oz package)
60g sugar free maple syrup
1 large ripe banana (about 100g)
Tools :
Large mixing bowl
Loaf pan (one I use is silicon and part of a set, link will be below)
Oven.
Instructions:
1. Take all the dry ingredients and thoroughly mix them in your large mixing bowl.
2. Take all the wet ingredients except the cream cheese and add them all to your mixing bowl. Thoroughly mix.
3. Take your batter and place half of it into your loaf pan.
4. Now take the cream cheese and place it in the middle of the batter. Make sure it doesn't touch any edges of the loaf pan if you want it all evenly in the middle like mine. But you can spread how you like.
5. Add the rest of the batter over the cream cheese.
6. Bake at 325-350°F for 35-45 minutes. Time and temperature will vary depending on your oven but above should be good for most.
